Dad Said
March 21st, 2023What was the inspiration for your book?
My grandchildren. I was down on the floor, enjoying some playtime with my grandchildren and the idea for a children’s book series came to me. Family has always been at the centre of my life, and being a proud, involved granddad brings me so much joy and inspiration. I thank my two grandkids, Noah and Zoey.
When do you write?
I write in my spare time, when the house is quiet and I’m on my own.
Do you have a favourite place to write?
My comfy recliner.
What would be the title of your memoirs?
Always a dad.
I’d like to be remembered through the legacy of my family. I have always been a hands-on dad, and even though my two children are now in their thirties, I still have the privilege of their love, respect and openness in sharing their life ups and downs with me. I now have that same privilege of being a granddad with my two amazing grandchildren.
Your greatest achievement so far … ?
By far it is my family. We truly have something special, hence the three year, father-daughter collaboration behind our first children’s book.
What is next for you?
My daughter and I are already working on book two in the Dad Said series.
