Author Ann-Maree Imrie
Ann-Maree Imrie lives in Sydney with her husband and their second-born son. She practised as a Social Worker for 10 years with children, young people and families, including grief and bereavement work.
Sharing in people’s stories of love and loss was very special to her, but she didn’t realise the full impact of grief and its heartbreak until she was forced to live through the death of her first son. He was stillborn on 31st January 2015. Ann-Maree has always had a passion for writing, and having her first son has propelled her to not only write, but to actually share it with other people.
Ann-Maree had two articles published by Mamamia. Morrie Schwartz's quote, 'Death ends a life, not a relationship' resonates with her experience, which she poured out in her first book 'You Could Have Been'. She hopes that this book is a special way for bereaved parents, including those who suffer early pregnancy loss, to continue a relationship with their child that they are unable to hold in their arms.
