Laura lives in the Adelaide Hills with her husband, daughter and their many different animals. While she always harboured the desire to write
stories, it was Poppy, one of her rescued joey kangaroos, who inspired her to write her debut children’s book titled Out of the Pouch. Laura and her family have taken on 10 joeys who have needed homes after losing their mothers since 2017. In her spare time Laura can be found getting
ice-cream with her daughter, trying her hand at a new creative craft, or staring blankly at a new Word document. She hopes to one day turn that document into another story that children will enjoy.
