Rebecca Cool is a West Australian artist and children’s book illustrator who has never had a ‘proper’ job. She lives on a rural property on the Margaret River with her partner, where elements of her everyday life (such as animals and gardens) continue to inspire her work. She loves illustrating, problem solving and talking to children about her books. She has now published six books. Her first book Isabella’s Garden written by Glenda Millard has received many awards and recognitions including Honour Book in the Picture Book category of the CBCA awards in 2010.
Her second book, For All Creatures (also written by Glenda Millard) has also won awards and was shortlisted in the CBCA awards in 2012. Her newest titles Jessica’s Smile and Wake Up Lionel are both set to be published in February 2023.
